Catie + Sam | Playful Sunset Engagement Session At Retzer Nature Center | Waukesha, WI

I've been too busy with other work to blog lately, but I thought now would be a good time to revisit it so I can share more of this super sweet engagement session! Catie and Sam and just so adorable together and we had the perfect evening at the Retzer Nature Center!

These two were just so fun and playful and we just laughed the whole time! My favorite part of the session had to be when I asked Sam to give Catie a piggy back ride and I ended up with some images of what I lovingly called "the turtle." As you can see Catie and Sam and just super fun to hang out with and I cannot wait for their wedding next year!

Abby + Manak | A Fun Indian Fusion Wedding | Madison, Wisconsin

I always tell my couples to make sure they stay true to who they are and plan their wedding day around what they want and not what everyone says they should do. I think Abby and Manak did just that! They not only blended their two faiths beautifully in their ceremony, but they created a super fun day for all of their family and friends. Honestly, the dance floor was packed from the moment that these two walked in to the room! Everyone joined them several times on the dance floor even during dinner! I think having a super fun live band helped as well ;)

I can't say enough just how wonderful this day was! Obviously you can see that Abby and Manak are just a gorgeous couple, but make sure you scroll all the way through and see how they transformed the Edgewater to an absolutely stunning space!!

Aisling + Mark | A Stunning Lakeside Backyard Wedding | Muskego, Wisconsin

I think the most important thing to remember from a wedding day are the experiences! On Aisling and Mark's wedding day it was 90 some degrees and super humid. Everyone was hot and sweaty but I don't think that is what anyone will remember. They will remember how gorgeous Aisling looked, how sweet their vows were, the amazing fun dance party, and the fireworks to end an incredible day!

Outdoor weddings are my absolute favorite weddings and this day had the perfect combination of relaxed backyard fun with elegant and sophisticated charm! Aisling and Mark planned and absolutely gorgeous and fun wedding day that not even extreme heat could ruin! Anneke + Levi | A Bright and Modern Madison Public Library Wedding | Madison, WI

I'll be honest with you guys, I've been sitting here thinking about what I want to write about Anneke and Levi's wedding day and I just keep starting sentences and they don't seem to do them justice! These two are just such wonderful, kind, genuine, and caring people and you really saw that throughout their wedding day. Their wedding day was really just effortless to photograph and in one of my favorite venue's downtown, the public library!

One thing that I always tell my couples when I first meet with them is that you should plan your wedding any way that you want. Also, that everyone will have an opinion on how to plan their wedding day, but to stay true to what they want. Anneke and Levi did just that! They chose to do their first look at the capitol which honestly was a first for me! Normally when we are looking for spots for a first look we try to find something a little more private, but we just made that happen at a very public place :) It was a beautiful spot and the perfect location for them to see each other on their wedding day!

Dederich Family | A Playful Summer Family Session | Vesper, Wisconsin

I know I haven't advertised it a lot, but I have decided to start doing more family and newborn portrait sessions! Over the years I've done a few here and there, but I have finally found what I want to do and that is lifestyle family portrait sessions and in-home newborn portrait sessions!

Last weekend I went up to hang out with my family for a birthday celebration for my niece and nephew, and as we usually do we take a quick 20 minutes to take some portraits which is usually just 20 minutes of my brother and sister-in-law playing and having fun with the kids! That is exactly what I think these portrait sessions should be about :) Real moments, real life, and really fun!

To celebrate offering more portrait sessions I am doing a mini portrait session day on August 12th at a park in Madison! I still have some spots left for these fun 20 minute sessions starting after 4:30pm just shoot me an email at jen@jendederich.com for more info! And even though we just started summer now is the time to think about booking a fall family portrait session! Time flies once the leaves change and my calendar fills up fast! Also, if you know of anyone having a baby that wants those precious moments as a newborn captured, I come right to their house so you can be all comfy and cozy and stress free with your new little one.
