Today I wanted to catch up a bit with the blog and feature more images from Laura and Mick’s adorable engagement session!! We had a gorgeous summer evening to walk around Lake Kegonsa State Park and just talk, have fun, while snapping portraits along the way :) The cherry on top though was their adorable pup, Leo, who joined us! I am sucker for a golden retriever and just love it when doggos get to join us for sessions!
I had the best time getting to know Jamie and Avi more for their engagement session!! As we wandered around downtown Chicago we stopped at some of the best places for city views like the Riverwalk and Olive Park! Obviously these two are a gorgeous couple, but their chemistry and playfulness with each other just made for an effortless engagement session. Cannot wait for their 2020 wedding!!
If you take away anything from this engagement session I hope it’s that you should print your photos and always just be yourself! I had such a great time hanging out with Sydney and James this past fall for their engagement session!! Because it was going to be kind of a gross day outside we decided to start at a coffee shop so these two could reminisce about their relationship together while flipping through their photo albums! Honestly, it’s such a different experience reliving those moments when you are flipping through pages together and it was just so lovely to watch both of them walk down memory lane :)
The other thing that I truly love about these two and their session is just how natural and sweet they are with each other! That allowed them to bring out their fun and silly sides which I absolutely love getting to capture!! The moral of the story? Print your photos!!! And don’t be afraid to just let your hair down and be yourself.
I think it’s time to start the year off right by highlighting some more sessions and weddings!! I think Chelsea and Jordan’s engagement session is the perfect way to start. We met before the sun came up over the hills in Cross Plains and our early start time was totally worth it.
Not only are Chelsea and Jordan effortlessly adorable with each other but they were just so much fun to hang out with! And the fact that they wanted to include their adorable pup? Well that just makes me want to be best friends with them for life ;) I had actually never been out to Indian Lake County Park yet and I don’t actually do many sunrise sessions, but this is further proof that new locations and setting an early start time are totally worth it! Happy new year, everyone!!
One thing I really love to do is wander around while we take portraits. I think it makes everything more relaxed and natural (haha as natural as it can be getting portraits taken) because it’s something you just do normally! We got a lot a lot of great fall color as we made our way around Willy St and finally out to the Arboretum!
And you never know what you may find or decide to do as you’re wandering! Found a great sign and made a super smart decision to stop for donuts :) Brittney and Eric were so effortless to photograph though as they are naturally affectionate and filly with each other!
