Mountain Elopement Styled Shoot | Glacier National Park, Montana

In October I got to cross off a state and national park that I have never been to, Glacier National Park in Montana! While we were lucky enough to go in fall when the leaves were still changing, that also meant there was lots of extra fog covering what I'm sure are some epic mountain views. We had planned to do a simple little styled shoot while there up in the mountains, but the weather just did not cooperate. Luckily though when you're in such a beautiful place your backup location is pretty fantastic as well! And even better was having the most wonderful couple to photograph!! These two truly exemplify the type of client that I hope to work with. They were both so sweet, kind, and fun, but then they were also adventurous and willing to do anything to get beautiful portraits. Amazing people + willingness to go the extra mile + gorgeous location = stunning portraits :) And huge should out to Renee at Madison Wedding Flowers for creating a gorgeous floral crown and bouquet!

How To Choose Your Bridal Party

How To Choose Your Bridal Party

When you're planning your wedding one of the most difficult decisions might be just who you want in your bridal party. My advice? Choose your friends and family that you couldn't imagine getting married without them there. People that make you feel comfortable, loved, and can have lots of fun with! And lets be real for a second, people that will show up where and when they need to :) The last and maybe most important thing to consider is choosing people that you feel like you can just be yourself with. I want to capture your real and sometimes completely goofy and fun self on your wedding day, and as you can see I think Matt chose the perfect group of guys to share his wedding day with him!

I feel like I'm a broken record on this, but I really love to travel and especially in mountains!! I don't know what it is, but there's just something so special about the rugged landscape and fresh air that just excites and energizes me. Sadly though on this trip we didn't really get to see that stunning rugged landscape because of the weather. Fog and rain covered the mountains last week the whole time we were there! But it's just a good excuse now to go back :)

Ethan + Leslie | Classic Orpheum Theater Wedding | Madison, Wisconsin

What can I say about this wedding, other than WOW! Leslie and Ethan put together a wedding day that was not only classically stunning, but unique and fun for all of their quests. I absolutely love all of the thoughtful and intentional details that these two have included on their wedding day. From the special gifts they exchanged in the morning, choosing a boutique hotel to get ready at, to a private moment during their first look, and then all of the props to have fun with it's safe to say this day was just full of special moments.

I think it's very easy to see that Leslie and Ethan are madly in love with each other and that combined with the soft, romantic glow of the Orpheum made for a fairy-tail setting for their reception! And of course no dance is complete without some fun props to party with :) I'm so happy I got to be part of this amazing day, and it's just a good reminder of what your wedding day should be about. Celebrate your love and commitment with your family and friends but also do it in a way that is meaningful and unique to you!

Dan + Sara | Ambassador Hotel + Wherehouse Wedding | Milwaukee, Wisconsin

It's no secret that I love couples that have a vision for their wedding day. To take your style, taste, personality and infuse that in to your wedding day takes a little bit more effort, but it is so worth it and just makes for an extra special day for you but your guests as well! This is exactly what Sara and Dan did for their hip, urban, art deco wedding day!!

The combination of trendy industrial spaces, art deco style, and good 'ol Wisconsin fun was all brought together on a gorgeous summer day in Milwaukee! This couple is so unique and so much fun that instead of lighting a unity candle or something more traditional, they made an old fashioned together during their ceremony! I have seen a lot of things at weddings, but that was a first for me and it's something I will always remember. It's the unique things, meaningful details, and attention to style and ascetic that make a wedding stand out and one that will always be a favorite of mine!! Congratulations Sara and Dan :)
