Elegant location, bright and fresh colors, wonderful couple. This wedding just had it all. Kelsey and Mark planned a wedding day that had traditional elements mixed with fresh pops of colors and flowers. With the perfect downtown location, we were able to take advantage Capital views along with catching the last minutes of golden light at Monona Terrace.
To top the night off, a live band kept the party going and people dancing long into the night. There is just a different party vibe that comes with a live band. Maybe I’m just a fan of live music, but any event with live music just gets an extra gold star.
Shannon & Julie
Session: Wedding Style: Outdoorsy, Fresh and Romantic Location: Geyserville, California
This sun-drenched California wedding was so full of charming details, bright colors, and epic views. This stunning vineyard on the top of a hill that overlooked Sonoma County was the absolute perfect background for this lovely wedding.
The modern, hip colors that Julie and Shannon chose blended perfectly with the natural outdoor colors of the vineyard. Because the sleek, modern house and grand views of the vineyard were so beautiful, they were able to have simple details and accents that just enhanced all of the surrounding beauty. This active, sweet, California couple had the perfect completely outdoor wedding! As the guests danced the night away under the stars, it was definitely a wedding day that will never be forgotten.
Blending modern and hip with a rustic and outdoorsy style is something that I absolutely love to do! What really makes this lifestyle session work is not only the perfectly put together wardrobe, but the fact that you can imagine yourself in his shoes and wanting to look and be like him.
A men’s clothing brand can now highlight how to mix and match pieces and how to incorporate them into your every day life. Taking those pieces and putting them into real scenarios only makes it more desirable to potential clients and customers. Having a sweet, loveable dog with the handsome model doesn’t hurt either!
Marc & Seneda
Session: Wedding Style: romantic, classy, garden Location: Newport, Rhode Island
Glamour and style was brought to this outdoor ceremony and reception. The soft green and crème colors only enhanced this garden setting. Newport is a town overflowing with glamour and sophistication. I couldn’t imagine Seneda and Marc getting married anywhere else. The grand centerpieces and table-scapes made for a tent reception that was so glamorous you would have thought we were in a grand ballroom.
One of my favorite parts of photographing on the East Coast is the dramatic coastline. This gorgeous couple deserved nothing less than the epic coastline views just steps away from their romantic garden wedding.
John & Jessica
Session: Engagement Style: Hometown Location: Valley City, North Dakota
I love to incorporate my couples’ unique personalities, interests and hobbies into their session. Jessica and John met while working for the same university in North Dakota, so it only made sense that we started their portrait session there! These two love to go running together and spending time at Jessica’s family farm so we included that in the shoot, too.
Big open fields and old farm trucks were just some of the cool things we got to take advantage of on their farm. I swear this farm was made for a photo shoot! It even comes complete with a weathered flag painted on the side of a building. I was sad to leave this cute couple and all of these fun locations!
With so many unique wedding traditions in different cultures and religions, it’s hard not to fall in love with being able to photograph weddings like this! Colors, patterns, and unique ceremony traditions make for a day full of special moments to capture.
Megan and Sree created such a warm and fun celebration full of emotion. There were tears of joy during their “first look” and at the end of their ceremony. Following so many touching moments, it was so much fun to see these two dance the night away with family and friends.
Kristin and Alex’s wedding was the most laid-back and probably the shortest ceremony I have photographed. As their guests gathered underneath a big oak tree in the yard of this restored farm, the couple exchanged simple and sweet vows, a quick “I do” and kiss and they were married! After the ceremony guests were treated to beautiful rural Wisconsin farm views as the huge original red barn served as the perfect reception venue.
Vintage lace table cloths, blue mason jars, and gorgeous wild flowers were just a few of the details this stylish bride chose. Everything complimented the rustic barn setting, while adding a fun vintage flare. Rural Wisconsin charm doesn’t get any better than this!
How can you go wrong with a stylish couple and combining the best of both city and nature for their portrait session? Krista and Ernest were naturals in front of the camera and it showed throughout their entire session.
It’s so much fun getting a wide variety with the classy Capitol as a background and working our way out to take advantage of the sunset out at Picnic Point. And we found out you can never go wrong with practicing your “first look” to start your session. City views + sunset in a field = engagement session perfection!
Getting the opportunity to collaborate with other vendors and professionals on fun projects like this is something I cannot get enough of! The whole idea of this photoshoot was to give future brides inspiration of some beautiful things they can do on their wedding day.
We created larger pieces of inspiration such as the wooden structure to hang a custom made chandelier from, and then also smaller touches like gold glitter apples to accent your table-scape. I had the pleasure of working with an amazing team for this stylized photo shoot and it is so much fun to see all of our ideas come to life! The event was featured on The Everygirl.
Session: Senior Style: Active Location: Vesper, Wisconsin
Overview: Erin’s senior session was a chance to highlight her awesome hobbies and talents! Growing up with horses myself, it was a flashback to my own senior portrait session getting to take portraits with my horse. Erin and her horse, Willow, are a great team and we had the perfect summer evening and sunset to capture some beautiful portraits with the two of them!
Another unique aspect to this senior session was getting to photographer her, on stage, at her high school as she showed off her beautiful ballet moves! Having such a great variety of locations made for a truly unique and special senior session.
Senior portrait sessions are a really fun time in a teen’s life to really make their personality shine and highlight some of their interests. Amanda is a gorgeous girl with a million dollar smile and a charming personality to match. Capturing her fun personality was easy!
Incorporating her stunning red prom dress and how she is always busy with sports like softball and basketball, was just a fun added bonus as we hopped from location to location around Madison.
I love it when couples choose a unique space that shows fits their personality while also being gorgeous. Who doesn’t like walls full of windows?! Anna and Derek kept the theme for their wedding simple and classic which complimented the clean lines of the Madison Library perfectly. The combination of modern and the traditional aspects of their wedding came together perfectly. Choosing to not do a “first look” made for the perfect image of Derek seeing his gorgeous bride for the first time at their ceremony.
Black and white with accents of gold go perfectly with the sleek modern gallery-type style of this venue. Another super fun wedding party and guests made for yet another perfect wedding!
